FAQs
So now that they are truly at the forefront of the public’s consciousness again, let’s get to know them a bit better. We have compiled a list of Oasis frequently asked questions for your pleasure – and if there’s anything you think we’ve missed, please get in touch and we’ll be happy to help you out.
It’s an iconic album, and the one that propelled the band to international stardom. It also probably went quite a long way to establishing ‘Indie’ music as a musical genre, rather than something a few bands from the UK were experimenting with. It was everywhere, and it won countless awards.
It was released in October 1995, and became the second fastest selling album in history at the time, only behind Michael Jackson’s ‘Bad’. It was the catalyst for the ‘Battle of Britpop’, as Blur were releasing singles throughout the year. Everybody in the country was talking about it – it was unavoidable in a way that no musician could hope to replicate these days.
Crikey, where do you start? Well probably the one that has been butchered up and down the country by amateur guitarists, karaoke singers and blokes that have had a bit too much to drink – Wonderwall. One of the most played songs of its generation, and yet it still manages to hold up, some 30 years later. A classic.
Similarly, Don’t Look Back In Anger has the same impact today as it did the day it was released, then you’ve got Supersonic, Stand By Me, Cigarettes & Alcohol, She’s Electric, Roll With It, Little By Little, Stop Crying Your Heart Out…. A succession of albums containing hit after hit. A sensational back catalogue.
Everyone will have their own personal favourite track, like Talk Tonight, or The Masterplan. The Importance of Being Earnest was a welcome reminder of how good they could be in 2005. But those hits in the mid 90s will always have a special place in the hearts of those that were there at the time. Watching music history being made in a way that hadn’t been seen since The Beatles.
Yes. Yes they have. Brits, MTV Awards, NME Awards (oddly no Grammy’s though). They have won plenty of awards over the years, but perhaps the biggest achievement is the legacy that they left.
This is more than record sales or awards – this is about the mark that they left, not just on the music industry, but on British culture. Britpop became a movement – everyone wanted to play music, be in a band. The fact that 15 years after they last played together and people are still desperate for them to reform and play together again tells you everything. Oasis were, and will always be, massive.
It’s not a record as such, but in October 2024, ticket sales for Oasis comeback tour was cited as one of the major forces that pushed non-essential spending by British consumers to the highest level of the year, In the month of September, when tickets went on sale, spending on tickets for shows jumped up a massive 36%!
The strange thing about Oasis is that they started without the Gallagher Brothers… Bassist Paul McGuigan (or Guigsy), guitarist Paul Arthurs (Bonehead) and drummer Tony McCarroll started a group with a different singer, but invited Liam Gallagher to replace him. At the time, Noel was working as a roadie for the band Inspiral Carpets, but was impressed when he first saw his brother’s band.
Noel approached the band, asking to join, but on the proviso that he would take creative control. They were happy to go along with it – Noel had some experience of the music industry, and had a ton of songs written and ready to go. The band was desperate for a bit of direction, so went along with Noel for the ride…
The key to those early days was making everything as simple as possible. Stripped back rhythms, with a distorted, raw sound.
It was King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut, in Glasgow which was to be the site of their big break. There they impressed Alan McGee, from Creation Records – he offered them a recording contract. In classic Oasis style, they didn’t sign this life-changing deal for several months…
They recorded an album and started touring in 1994. Their third single, “Live Forever” was their first to enter the UK top 10, and when their first album Definitely Maybe went to number one in the album charts. Oasis had announced themselves, and they didn’t look back.
That’s a very good question… A question that, in itself, is a pretty good reason to attend the tour if you can get tickets!!
At a guess, you could probably expect a front man with a spiky attitude, a fair amount of tension between him and his brother, thousands of excited fans and a seemingly never-ending stream of classic indie.
Live music has changed a lot since Oasis last toured – my guess is that Oasis will not have changed at all.
About the Taylor Swift UK Tour
From a humble beginning in West Reading, Pennsylvania, USA, Taylor Alison Swift was interested in music from an early age. Her first taste of stardom came when she was eleven and sang The Star-Spangled Banner before a basketball game. Swift was 14 when she signed up with Sony/ATV as a songwriter. At 16, Taylor Swift released her first self-titled album and opened for Rascal Flats. She became platinum in 2007 and sold over one million copies. 2008 saw the release of her second album, Fearless, where she shows not only county but pop sensibility. Fearless opened at number one on the Billboard 200 chart. Swift went out on her first headlining tour in 2009, and she won the CMA Entertainer of the Year, which made her the youngest and first female winner since 1999.
In 2015, she released her next album, 1989, featuring the hit song Shake It Off. 2018 saw the start of a controversy that would follow the singer regarding selling the master recordings of her six albums. Swift eventually released her versions of Fearless and Red. Following the issue, she released more albums and appeared in the musical Cats. Taylor moved away from her pop sound and started producing more folk center music, with Folklore and Evermore. After all this, she is still releasing new music and is a force to be reckoned with.

Taylor Swift has always been known to push the boundaries regarding her live performances. Just like her surprise appearance at London’s O2 Area, where she performed her new song Anti-Hero, live for the first time. Her previous tour, The Reputation Tour, put our unrivaled stage presence, excellent musicianship, and top-notch stage design, which left fans wanting more as soon as the show ended. Critics have said the Reputation tour showed fans that Swift was meant to be a singer and entertainer. The show felt complete and exciting from the over-the-top set, jaw-dropping stage, and self-aware vulnerable video monologues. This was a performance to be remembered and perfectly encapsulated her growth as a performer. Fans are more excited about what’s to come than ever before.
Getting ready for a night seeing your favourite artist can be stressful. The team at Events Hospitality wants to ensure you make the most of your time at a Taylor Swift tour or any other event. These tips ensure all your bases are covered, so you can only worry about what song will be played next. First, we always recommend dressing in loose and comfortable clothes and shoes. You’ll likely be on your feet, dancing, jumping, and singing along. You’ll want to wear flexible, relaxed clothing so nothing gets in your way. Something else to consider is potentially bringing earplugs so you don’t damage your hearing. If you’re worried about muffled sound, high-fidelity earplugs that turn the volume down without muffling the sound are available. Next, you should consider how you’re getting to and from the stadium. Avoid waiting on rides to show up by having a solid plan considered and agreed on before the show starts. The last thing we recommend is keeping your cell phone fully charged if you need to make a call.
Is Oasis worth seeing live?
Definitely! Oasis are legends of the music industry, and we don’t use that phrase lightly. Few bands have cultivated the kind of reputation and support that they have garnered over the years, and few comebacks will be more highly anticipated than this one.
So, if you are to get the chance to see Oasis live, we would urge you to take it. Given the temperamental nature of the Gallagher Brothers’ relationship, you may not get another chance any time soon!

Be prepared for Oasis UK dates
It’s going to be quite something, isn’t it? When the first few notes boom out from the stage to officially announce that Oasis are back (in a recent interview, Liam said he’d like to open with Rock ‘N’ Roll Star). A moment that fans have waited for, for more than a decade. 2009 was the last time they performed together, and while Noel and Liam have still been very prominent in the years that have passed, the country is willing them to get back and play to venues all over the country. Just like the good old days.
The Gallagher brothers have been masters of teasing the press and public since the early nineties. They know how to string us all along, and Liam in particular has revelled in the role of getting everyone’s hopes up, only to then tell us to not get too excited! They knew exactly what they were doing – managing to stay in the public eye, keeping everyone guessing, and creating phenomenal demand for tickets as soon as the tour was announced.
It’s difficult not to get excited though. For anyone that was around in those early days of Britpop, Blur vs Oasis, chart battles, tabloid controversy, and, of course, era-defining music – Oasis have left a massive hole in the UK music scene. No band since has come close to having the same sort of impact as this group of misfits from Manchester managed to have. They changed the music industry forever – and that isn’t an exaggeration.
So you are not going to want to miss it when one of the UK’s favourite artists announces a new tour. We will have access to tickets at venues in London and across the UK – if you’re looking for Oasis hospitality packages that provide you with an unforgettable experience, then come to us – Events Hospitality.
