Yes! The Weeknd is in the middle of a monumental, multi-year global run. His record-breaking After Hours Til Dawn stadium tour originally began all the way back in July 2022, and due to absolutely astronomical demand, he has officially extended the tour into 2026. This new leg brings his spectacular, constantly evolving live show back to audiences across the UK, Europe, and Latin America.
The 2026 extension of the After Hours Til Dawn tour spans multiple continents. He will be hitting massive outdoor stadiums across Latin America, Europe, the UK, and Ireland.
Globally, he is visiting major cities including Mexico City, Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Paris, Amsterdam, Munich, and Madrid. For his UK and Ireland fans, the tour features a huge run of stadium shows: he will be playing Manchester’s Etihad Stadium, a massive multi-night residency at London’s Wembley Stadium, and wrapping up at Dublin’s Croke Park.
The 2026 leg officially kicks off in April with a series of massive shows in Mexico and Brazil. The UK and European leg begins in early June, bringing him to Manchester on the 11th of June, before his highly anticipated run at Wembley Stadium begins on the 14th of August, 2026.
For the massive 2026 stadium dates, including the Wembley Stadium run, The Weeknd is being supported by hip-hop heavyweight Playboi Carti. To ensure you catch the incredible support acts without spending your evening queuing for drinks, booking a hospitality package gives you access to a private bar and premium lounges before the show even starts.
It is a massive global extension of his already historic world tour. The After Hours Til Dawn tour has already sold out dozens of stadiums worldwide, and the 2026 dates continue that global takeover across Latin America, Europe, and the UK.
Standard tickets for The Weeknd’s stadium shows are in incredibly high demand and have largely sold out across official platforms. For a guaranteed, stress-free booking experience, securing an official VIP or hospitality package through Events Hospitality is the absolute best option. How The Weeknd Started Out?
I think it’s fair to say that The Weeknd has had a very eventful life. To tell his story, we need to go back to Toronto in February 1990. There, a boy named Abel Tesfaye was born to Ethiopian immigrants. His parents separated shortly afterwards, so he was raised by his mother and his grandmother. He attended a French immersion school, and is now fluent in French as well as Amharic, which he picked up from his grandmother.
Aged 17, he decided to drop out of school and move into an apartment with two friends – one of which was La Mar Taylor, who is now his creative director. His stage name ‘The Weeknd’ was chosen because he moved out of home on a weekend. Which is one of the more mundane monikers in pop music. At this point in his life, he was living what could be described as a ‘hedonistic’ lifestyle. Others may describe it as ‘going off the rails’. Drugs, homelessness, jail – it was a life he didn’t want for himself, so he decided to, eventually, focus on music.
In 2009 he began releasing music anonymously on YouTube, and a year later he met producer Jeremy Rose at a party, and they spent a bit of time making music together. While this partnership didn’t go anywhere, Tesfaye was allowed to use the music they had created together. This seemed to spur him on to create more, and in December 2010, he released three song “What You Need”, “Loft Music” and “The Morning” to YouTube, under the username ‘xoxxxoooxo’, and they got attention from the New York Times, and the rapper Drake.
From here, everything took off. The following March, he set up the XO record label with Taylor and a couple of music executives. A couple of months later, he was working with Drake. That summer, his music was used in an ad campaign for the TV show Entourage, and he had started performing live. Within a year, he was on the line-up for Coachella, and opening for Florence and the Machine.
In 2012 he released Trilogy, a compilation album, which debuted at number 4 in the Billboard charts. He had made it, and from there, things have just got better and better for The Weeknd.
Latest Music
In January 2025, The Weeknd released Hurry Up Tomorrow, the final chapter in his creative trilogy, following on from After Hours in 2020 and Dawn FM in 2022. The album debuted at number one in over a dozen countries, with singles like Cry for Me and Rather Lie racing up the charts. At the same time, his blockbuster hit Blinding Lights broke streaming records, becoming the first song to surpass five billion streams on Spotify.
Abel also starred in his own film, also titled Hurry Up Tomorrow, which, let’s be honest, was met with some pretty bad reviews. The Weeknd is a true artist, in that they are constantly pushing the boundaries and getting out of their comfort zone, and sometimes that leads to work that is not well received. Most great artists experience this.
The disparity between the music and the TV/film work of The Weeknd would surely suggest that he should just stick to music. But that’s not how creativity works, so we would love The Weeknd to do whatever they feel is necessary to keep producing incredible music – even if it means a few questionable movie projects along the way!
