How To Buy Tickets For Liverpool?

There are few better sights in world football than a packed Anfield Stadium serenading their team with a spine-tingling rendition of You’ll Never Walk Alone – so is it any wonder that Liverpool FC tickets are among the most difficult to come by in the country?

Under German manager Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool Football Club have become one of the most exciting teams to watch, frequently challenging Manchester City for the Premier League title and always a major force in cup competitions.

Furthermore, Liverpool’s illustrious history has grown their appeal all over the world. You’ll find Liverpool fans in every corner of the globe, many of whom are desperate to attend Premier League games at Anfield.

The high demand for Liverpool tickets led us to think that it would be a good idea to dedicate this article to exactly how you can buy a match ticket, including the various hospitality tickets for Liverpool matches. Let’s take a look.

Can I Buy Season Tickets for Liverpool FC?

Of course, the dream would become one of the 27,000 season ticket holders at Anfield Stadium. That way you would be able to attend every single match. Unfortunately, this is as likely as Steven Gerrard becoming the next Liverpool manager!

Almost every Liverpool season ticket holder will renew their ticket every year, so very few become available. The few season tickets that become available are snapped up by the people at the front of the Liverpool season ticket waiting list. This list has become so long that, at the time of writing, the club are no longer accepting new people to sign up for it. The estimated waiting time is around the 30 year mark… By which time even James Milner might have retired! Anfield Blog

Match by Match Tickets for Liverpool Football Club

If you would like to purchase tickets for Liverpool games on a match by match basis, then you have a bit more of a chance, but they employ quite a convoluted system, with many ticket sales channels through the club directly, which we’ll explain now.

They make sure that a minimum of 10,000 supporters can buy Liverpool tickets for each home match – but they are only available during two sales windows – one in July and one in November. These tickets are available to Liverpool members, and in order to become a Member you will need to sign up on the official site and pay an annual fee.

The main issue here is that you are going to need to know what you are going to be doing months in advance of the match – and also be flexible as Premier League games are always getting moved for television coverage (on Sky Sports or BT Sport), especially Liverpool matches.

The weekend games tend to be the most popular, so much harder to get tickets for. Evening matches and cup games tend to be less popular, so they are probably your best bet for Liverpool FC tickets.

Some tickets for Liverpool matches will go on sale to non-members – but only a handful at most. They tend to be released about a week before the game, if there are any at all.

Finally, some tickets are available to holders of Fan Cards – but this system was stopped in 2008, so these are few and far between!

Hospitality Tickets For Liverpool FC

Anfield - Brodies Sport Bar One of the best ways to buy Liverpool tickets is to opt for a hospitality package. Not only does this guarantee you match tickets for some of the best seats in the stadium for the match, but you’ll also get to experience some world-class hospitality to create a day to remember – no matter what the result of the match.

Our favourite package is the Brodies Sports Bar. This is a brand new hospitality space in the freshly built Anfield Road Stand. What we love about this package is that it manages to combine the luxury of a VIP package with the atmosphere of Premier League games – you’ll still get that buzz before kick off, but all the while you’ll be enjoying some incredible street food in a vibrant sports bar. There will even be an appearance from a Liverpool FC legend!

Named after John Alexander Brodie, the celebrated engineer and (more importantly) inventor of the goal net, Brodies is an ultra-modern sports bar-style hospitality zone. You’ll get great drinks as well as incredible street food from the pre-match menu, using fresh local produce to create mouth-watering dishes. And, to cap it all off, you’ll get to watch the match from the luxury of a padded seat in the Anfield Road Stand, in the Upper Tier. Amazing views of the pitch.

This is our favourite way to watch Premier League football.

When Should I Go To A Liverpool FC Match?

If you want to get Liverpool FC tickets, the main draw is just to be at Anfield Stadium to watch Liverpool Football Club play a match. So, with that in mind, does it really matter when you go or who they are playing?

There are some fixtures that will be in incredibly high demand. The Merseyside derby is one of the most fierce rivalries in English football, and Everton always tend to make it competitive no matter how they are doing in the league. Then you have the other North West derby – Liverpool vs Manchester United – a fixture that has thrown up so many classic Premier League matches over the years.

And we can’t talk about Liverpool home games without mentioning some of the incredible European nights. While we don’t know when Anfield will next host Champions League fixtures, Cup games under the lights are always memorable. To be fair, the domestic cup games are also usually fiery affairs.

So if you want to buy Liverpool tickets the good news is that it doesn’t really matter when you go – just watching Liverpool play is enough.

How To Make The Most of a Liverpool Home Game

If you have been lucky enough to secure Liverpool FC tickets (or smart enough to buy hospitality tickets!) then there are a few things you can do to really get the most out of your trip.

Our advice would be to make a weekend out of it – see if you can get on one of the Anfield Tours to learn more about this fantastic and historic stadium. Take time to get to know Liverpool city centre as well – it’s an exciting and dynamic place that is well worth exploring.

Make sure you give yourself plenty of time to spend at Anfield before kick off – there is nothing like the anticipation and atmosphere before a Liverpool match.
