When is Ed Sheeran next touring the UK?

Ed Sheeran has established himself as one of the most popular artists of his generation – right up there with Taylor Swift, Rhianna, Coldplay and Dua Lipa. With all of these musicians, going to see them live is about so much more than just the music – it is a proper show. An event. With precise stage direction, dancers, mesmerising lighting displays, special guests and, of course – a loop pedal.

When any of those artists tour, it’s usually a big deal – so we are dedicating this page to Ed Sheeran tour dates. If you want to see the English singer songwriter next time he’s touring the UK – we will be able to help you out. We’ll tell you everything you need to know about his World Tour, as well as letting you know about how you can secure hospitality tickets when he comes to a venue near you.

When is the next Ed Sheeran tour?

Way back in September 2021, Sheeran announced the first dates of the +-=÷× Tour – that has perplexed search engines ever since. (It has subsequently become known as the Mathematics Tour). Initially there were 27 tour dates, which began the following April, but more tour dates were added soon after due to overwhelming demand. And then more were added. And more. As we near the end of 2024, the Mathematics Tour is still going.

The tour started in Europe, with dates in Ireland, London and other UK cities, France, Germany, Spain and many other countries. In 2023, he embarked first on the Oceania and the North American leg of the tour, before heading out to Asia in the early part of 2024. From there, he’s gone all over the place – Cyprus for one gig, Rio de Janeiro for the next – perhaps fitting in shows around the Ipswich Town fixtures!

In 2025, Ed Sheeran’s European fans will get another chance to catch him, he has dates confirmed in 13 different cities across the continent from May to September.

Will Ed Sheeran play in the UK in 2025?

Well, this is the question on everybody’s lips at the moment. As things stand, there are no dates planned in the UK during 2025. However there is a strong suggestion that he will announce more dates to this European leg, and if he does, it will almost certainly include a UK concert or two! There is a big gap in his schedule in July, so if we were going to have a bet on it, we would say that would be a great opportunity for him to play a few UK venues. Watch this space for news on upcoming Ed Sheeran UK Tour concerts as soon as they are announced!

Why is the tour called ‘The +-=÷× Tour’?

It’s actually the result of some incredible foresight. Way back in 2011, before he was ever the opening act for Taylor Swift, Sheeran released his debut album, and called it ‘+’. His second studio album, three years later, was called ‘×’. Do you get where this is going?

Finally, 12 years after he released that first album, he completed the sequence with his release of ‘-‘ in 2023. His sixth studio album, allowing for his ‘No.6 Collaborations Project’ in 2019, which didn’t follow the same pattern, and neither did his seventh ‘Autumn Variations’, released after ‘-‘.

We find it absolutely amazing that he had both the vision and the confidence to start this off when he was pretty much unknown. 12 years to finish something he started. Well played, Ed.

What can you expect at an Ed Sheeran concert?

Well, when it’s all boiled down, what you can expect is one man, a guitar and a microphone. But as we alluded to in our introduction, there’s a lot more going on than that.

Sheeran is a natural performer, but not in a showy way. He is personable, and this shines through when he is on stage, sharing stories between songs and engaging with his audience. You come away feeling like you’ve been to a very intimate gig, even when you’re in a packed out stadium with thousands of other people. On top of that, the lighting and visual effects are perfectly matched to the music, which all adds to the vibrant atmosphere in the crowd.

Oh, and then there are the hits. Banger and banger. A-Team, Lego House, Thinking Out Loud, Shape of You, Photograph – the list goes on and on.

You may even get to see a special guest or two… Eminem has appeared on stage on the current tour, and Sheeran has amassed a huge number of friends in the industry, having written songs for Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber, Rita Ora, Lewis Capaldi and One Direction, to name a few. So who knows who might pop in!
