Seeing Coldplay live is one of those experiences that any music fan should add to their bucket list. Coldplay concerts are about much more than the music itself, it is an experience like no other. When is the next Coldplay UK Tour?
Coldplay recently announced that they would be playing at two venues in the UK in 2025, with two dates at the Craven Park Stadium, in Hull, to be added to the dates in London (Wembley Stadium).
Earlier in the year they had announced their six dates at Wembley Stadium, as part of their Music of the Spheres World Tour, which has been going on since 2022! The tour, which already has an accumulated attendance of over 9 million, began to promote their ninth studio album, Music of the Spheres, but now incorporates their tenth album, Moon Music, which was released in October 2024.

Why are Coldplay playing at Hull’s Craven Park Stadium?
This is a fair question, we think – why are one of the biggest touring bands in modern music playing two nights at the Rugby League club Hull Kingston Rovers usually play at? With a seating capacity of 12,225 (compared to the 90,000 at Wembley Stadium).
Well, if you know anything about Coldplay, you’ll know that they care a lot about a number of things – and this latest move is about supporting grassroots music venues. It’s a well-known fact that smaller venues are struggling in the industry, which will eventually hamper the prospects of small, unknown bands that are just starting out.
So Coldplay have decided to, not just give a massive boost to this smaller venue, but to also donate 10% of the ticket sales from all of the UK shows in 2025 to the Music Venue Trust – a charity which works to improve and protect grassroots venues. As all upcoming artists will tell you – without grassroots venues, there won’t be another Coldplay coming through.
A couple of other features of the Hull shows are that half of them would only be allocated to people with a local postcode (HY, DN, YO or LN), and that they would be selling pairs of cheaper ‘Infinity Tickets’ – £46.75 for two people. While there will be a limited number of these, it’s a nice gesture to fans to keep ticket prices down.
Is there anything special about the Music of the Spheres World Tour?
Yes – there is plenty that is special about the latest Coldplay tour – and many of the features of the tour have been evolving as it goes on.
If we ignore all of the records that it has broken for ticket sales, gross earnings, more shows at Wembley than Taylor Swift etc, one of the main notable features has been the desire to reduce the carbon footprint of the tour wherever possible. A team of sustainability experts were hired to work on the tour, and BMW helped develop the first mobile rechargeable show battery, powered by renewable resources.
Coldplay have a reputation for giving fans a bit extra when it comes to the experience at their concerts, and all of the extra displays and effects were designed to reduce the carbon use as much as possible – biodegradable confetti, illuminating wristbands made from 100% compostable materials, plant based food, water refill stations. Wherever they have been able, they have reduced the environmental impact of the tour. The Wembley Stadium dates will be “to be powered with 100% solar, wind and kinetic energy” according to the band. And as with most Wembley concerts, production values will be off the scale!
None of this, though, has been to the detriment of the fan experience – they continue to find new ways to excite fans, with innovative displays and a mystery guest or two. You never know what to expect, but it’s always a treat for your eyes and ears.
