FAQs

We answer some of your questions on The O2

Tickets for events at the O2 are sold via different channels, depending on the event. Some are direct from the O2 itself, other via the event promoter or artist. At Events Hospitality, we sell premium tickets and hospitality packages for all events at the O2. These are available even for otherwise sold out occasions, so we are a one stop shop for the biggest and best events at the O2.

We have premium tickets and hospitality packages options available for all of the events at the O2, throughout the year. As availability will differ for events, it is best to call us on 0208 053 0278 to discuss your requirements.

In short, yes. These are premium tickets, such as in the American Express Lounge, or VIP Hospitality packages in a box or shared suite. The best packages depend on the event itself, so we are on hand to give advice as to the one that would best suit you.

This is governed by the event, so can differ quite a lot. Where possible, prices for the event are displayed on the package itself, but if you have any questions or specific requirements then just contact us on 0208 053 0278 to discuss the options. We often have some of the best prices for tickets at the O2, even for the most exclusive or sold out events.

At Events Hospitality we only offer premium tickets and official hospitality packages. We also only sell tickets or packages that we have in hand, to ensure availability for our clients (many companies out there will sell the tickets and then attempt to procure them afterwards to fulfil the order).

We know how stressful it can be trying to work out which companies are genuine, especially when there are so many out there. As one of the newer ones, we also know how much harder we have to work to prove ourselves. That’s why we offer a 100% money back guarantee if we don’t deliver your tickets. To ensure you’re dealing with a reputable company please call us on 0208 053 0278 to ask any questions, or view more information about us.

Wherever you are buying your tickets from, make sure you do your research. Take a look at online reviews, ask to speak to previous customers or verify with the venue that the company you are using are official hospitality agents.

As one of the biggest and most varied multi-purpose venues in the UK, the O2 holds a multitude of events. It is most famous for concerts, which see the biggest international artist play sold out residencies, as well as comedy gigs, boxing, WWE, tennis and much more.

The O2 Arena is located in Greenwich, South London.

Generally speaking, the O2 Arena as a whole is open to everyone, so you don’t need a ticket to access the bars and restaurants in or around the dome. However, once you’ve used your ticket to go into the arena where the concert is held, you won’t be able to leave and come back.

Around the dome and non-ticketed areas, bags are permitted. You can take an A4 sized bag (aka a handbag) into the arena for events, but not backpacks, travel cases or large tote bags. These would need to be left the storage facilities, for a fee. All bags will be searched, as will every person entering the arena.

If you’re travelling by tube, the O2 is served by North Greenwich station, on the Jubilee Line. This is easily accessed from London Bridge or Stratford. Driving to the O2 is much better than most others in London and there are quite a lot of carparks, both on site and slightly further away, so its not as hard to get in or out. For those looking for a more adventurous mode of travel, the Thames Clipper and the Emirates Air Line cable car both serve the venue.

These are usually sent around 3-5 days before your event and we’ll keep you updated with the timeframe to receive these. As there is such a variety of events, the format of tickets can sometimes differ, but most tickets for the O2 will be e-tickets, sent via email.

Extensive, with lots of different things going on, not just events but cinemas, bowling, photo booths, shopping malls and of course lots of bars and restaurants. For more information on this, our comprehensive guide at the bottom of the page covers everything you need to know.

This will be explained to you during the purchase, as it obviously depends on the package. To get an idea of the available locations, you can see various seating maps at the bottom of the page.

Generally speaking no, most events are very relaxed. The hospitality at the O2 also tends to be on the more informal side, so there isn’t many restrictions to this. However, certain events may have a specific dress code which we will make you aware of, but any questions just ask.

Children 15 or under must be accompanied by an adult and for most events under 16s cannot go into the standing area. Everyone entering the O2 arena must have a ticket, regardless of age and other restrictions may apply depending on the event, so please double check first. You don’t need a ticket to access the facilities around the arena.

Not inside the Arena, no. Outside there are some smoking areas, but you won’t be able to access these once you’ve have gone into the event itself.

A comprehensive guide to the O2 Arena

O2 guide - intro

Introduction

Formed in the shell of the Millennium Dome – the less said about that project the better! – the O2 arena on the Greenwich peninsula in southeast London is one of the largest and most popular entertainment venues in the world. It was given its official name by the famous mobile phone company, but with its shape and appearance an iconic feature of the London skyline (it appeared in the James Bond film The World Is Not Enough no less), some refer to it as ‘the dome.’ Although you may know it best as a music venue, it has held everything from tennis matches to summer Olympics events. It has the second-highest seating capacity of any indoor venue in the UK (you’ll have to head up to the Manchester Arena if you want bigger.)

A brief history

The Millenium Dome, which housed the Millenium Experience, opened to much excitement on 1 January 2000 – avoiding the catastrophic impact of the much feared and totally imagined millennium bug. However, visitor numbers did not meet expectations, and the project was soon met by widespread criticism from the press and the public. From December 2001, the dome – which cost £789 million to build – was leased to AEG and plans were set in place to renovate the space into a multi-purpose venue. Work began in 2003. The O2 arena was built at a cost of £350 million and officially opened in 2007, finally putting to good use the much-maligned project.

o2 guide - quick facts

Quick Facts

The O2 is often billed as being the most popular music arena in the world. Indeed, in 2017, it outstripped New York’s famous Madison Square Garden by a good 300,000 tickets. This may well be down to its versatility as much as its sheer size.

The seating arrangement and floor surface in the arena can be altered in an almost Swiss-army-knife-like fashion to anything from an ice rink to a basketball court or a concert venue.

Bon Jovi played the first ever show here and the fastest-selling show was back in 2007 when the Spice Girls’ reunion tour sold out in 38 seconds. It also became the ‘O3’ for 11 days of Drake concerts, in recognition of his lyrics from the song ‘Gods Plan.’

Why go?

Well, for pretty much any reason, really. It doesn’t matter whether you want to watch Europe’s largest country music festival, UFC, or go urban mountaineering by climbing the exterior, you’re going to be doing so at one of the biggest and best venues in the UK.

Indeed, over 600 artists have played here over the years and 60 million people have visited since it opened. Most of whom, we wager, came and had a drink. In the year 2015, when the venue reported that it had been named the world’s most visited venue for the 8th year in a row, it served more than 600,000 pints of beer.

o2 guide - facilities

What are the facilities like?

Inside and out, they are comprehensive – it’s not all about music and the Olympics here. The O2 is kitted out with restaurants covering every imaginable cuisine from Italian to Japanese, as well as London’s largest cinema – a 12-screen Cineworld complex, complete with a 4DX screen. (We don’t even know what that means, but we bet it’s bloody good.) Not only that, it has a Hollywood Bowl and an ICON shopping outlet. Want more? There are a couple of immersive game bars, a trampoline park and something called the ‘Selfie Factory’, where you can take as many photos as you like in your 60-minute slot…nope, us neither. If you’re coming for an event you’ll want to know the best places to eat and drink. As we’ve touched on above, there are plenty of choices and the variety is one of O2’s real assets. Once you get inside the Arena itself, however, the options become a bit more limited – think burgers and chips (which are overpriced, naturally – this is London) so we recommend soaking up the atmosphere outside before – either in O2 itself at somewhere like Gaucho’s or outside at the various street food and bar locations.

Are the premium tickets, VIP and Hospitality options?

As you might expect for one of the world’s most popular (if not the most popular) venue there is a vast array of VIP hospitality packages that can grant you access to exclusive suites, high-end bars and all sorts of special experiences whether that be single events or year-round access.

One of the most popular of these is the American Express Lounge, which is synonymous with hospitality at the O2, offering a spacious and sophisticated location to eat and drink before your event. As the name would suggest, these tickets are usually acquired through AMEX but is something we also offer here at Events Hospitality.

For larger groups, a suite for all of your mates for the night will allow you various luxuries, such as entering via VIP lanes and a range of catering options (avoiding the queues and dodgy hotdog vendors on the main concourse). If you want to get closer to the action, you could hire the Pepsi Max Deck, which gives you a private row of seating on Level 1 granting you top views and in-seat service. We can offer you a range of packages here at Events Hospitality, so feel free to contact us or call us on 0208 053 0278 to find out more.

o2 guide - how to get there

How to get to The O2?

There is a good chance you will be jumping on the tube to get to your gig or event (much like Rihanna, Noel Gallagher or Chris Martin – all of whom went underground to get to their own O2 appearances).

The closest tube stop is North Greenwich on the Jubilee Line (aka the Silver line, for those of you who are too busy for three syllables). If you’re coming in by train from outside London, the closest mainline station is Charlton and London Bridge is on the Jubilee line so provides easy access. There is more parking at the O2 than many venues in the UK, so it is an option, but you’ve always got to factor in London traffic. Alternatively, why not have a scenic walk along the banks of the Thames?

What is there to do in the area around The O2?

Well, depending on what time you’re here, and what floats your boat (quite literally, you’re surrounded by Thames water) you could catch a flight at the nearby London City Airport, go to a rave in Deptford, visit the Museum of London Docklands, or head to the famous Billingsgate market to see traders arguing over fish.

That’s a pretty good slice of London right there.

How can I get tickets to The O2 Arena?

You can take a look at the events schedule here, where you can also purchase tickets (and appreciate the huge variety on offer). Here at Events Hospitality, we don’t offer standard tickets, but we do have a big range of hospitality packages, VIP experiences and premium tickets that you might not have access to on the O2 website, so contact us at [email protected] for what we have on offer. It’s an in-the-know kind of thing.

What event in O2’s history stands out?

Take your pick. A little-known artist called Prince played 21 sold out nights here in August 2007 – a record breaking run at the time. The O2 also played host to the 2012 Summer Olympics and Paralympics.

Most niche event?

Perhaps more notable is the event that was never held here. Michael Jackson was scheduled to perform a 50-show residency at the O2 in 2009 but passed away 18 days before it began.

A final insider tip

If you’re feeling a little bit more Daniel Craig (or, should we say, Pierce Brosnan) you could always arrive to your Ariana Grande gig by boat – or Thames Clippers River Bus Express to be precise. From the London Eye and London Bridge piers, it’s a 35-minute trip. Just make sure you pack a mac!

If you have any questions or would like to understand the best options for tickets at the O2, please contact us and we would be happy to help.
